Day 1: Cusco – Km. 82 – Wayllabamba

Early in the morning you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco and you will be taken by bus to the Ollantaytambo town. We will then travel to the village of Miskay where you will begin your journey along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. We’ll stop for lunch after about 3 hours of hiking. In the afternoon, we will continue our way to Wayllabamba, stopping to visit the Llactapata Archeological Site. We will have dinner and stay the night in Wayllabamba.



Day 2: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañusca – Pacaymayu

After breakfast, we will begin the most challenging part of our journey we will have to ascend up a steep incline. Then three more hours of traveling will take us to a pass known as Warmiwañusca (dead woman’s pass). It is located at the elevation of 4200 meters. This place offers incredible panoramic views of the whole region. You can also enjoy the satisfaction of having reached the highest point of the trail. After lunch we will descend to Pacaymayo, where the camp is and we will have dinner.


Day 3: Pacaymayo – Phuya Patamarca – Wiñaywayna

After breakfast we will continue to descend until we reach the second most important pass on the trail, located at 3800 meters, where you will enjoy a guided tour by Runkurakay site and the Sayacmarca fortress. Then we will continue on to Phuyapatamarca where we will stop for lunch. That afternoon, we will go to the Wiñaywayna site, which we will explore before having dinner and settling down for the night.


Day 4: Wiñaywayna – Machu Picchu – Cusco

After breakfast, we’ll walk through the forest for an hour approximately before reaching Intipunku, the famous entrance to Machu Picchu which offers an incredible view of the entire development. You will enjoy a guided visit to the major attractions of Machu Picchu, which includes the sacred plaza, the circular tower, the sacred sundial, the royal quarters, the temple of the three windows and the cemeteries. You will also have free time to explore on your own before the group will descend by bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included in the tour package). In the afternoon you will return to Cusco by train and you will be transported back to your hotel.
